Nested documents

Project tables into nested JSON, JSON Lines, YAML and XML documents. Keep related entities in separate tables and use per(parent, min, max) to control child counts. Use a document output with embed(child) to nest rows. JSON Lines works well when a consumer processes one document per line. GBDDL validation and pricing are shared across Chef, the HTTP API and MCP. Consult the recipe language, output formats, and credit model for the supported syntax and behavior.
